Glens of Antrim Potatoes
David Morrow is sales and marketing manager for Glens of Antrim Potatoes, acting as account manager for Marks & Spencer, Asda and Sainsbury's, and looking after branded and own-label potato lines. He has been involved in most aspects of fresh produce over the past 15 years - from the growing end of the business to procurement management, and from running a wholesale business to acting as commercial manager of one of Ireland's largest fresh produce packers.
Elaine Chapman
Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD)
Elaine Chapman is senior supply-chain development adviser in the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for Northern Ireland, focusing on the horticulture industry. Since 2005 Elaine has assisted and supported growers in both the commercial and amenity horticulture sectors, helping to develop and strengthen their supply chains. She is also secretary to the Horticulture Forum for Northern Ireland, and has a degree in agriculture and PhD in crop production from Queen's University Belfast.
Carol Ford
Growing Direct
Carol Ford is director of Growing Direct. With extensive industry knowledge and experience she works to champion the grower and the producer in the UK and across the globe, creating communities of growers and consumers using modern communication tools. The internet has the potential to break down barriers that exist between these groups like never before and Carol is at the forefront of these developments. She has over 20 years of fresh food experience, working in roles such as buying, sales, marketing, category management, operations and strategy development.
Dr Jim McAdam
Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute and Queen's University Belfast
Dr Jim McAdam works for the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) where he is head of the Crops Grassland and Ecology branch. This role involves managing research programmes at AFBI's plant-testing and horticulture and plant-breeding research stations. The horticultural research focuses on mushrooms and topfruit. Jim's own research interests include the impact of agriculture on the environment, upland ecology and agroforestry. He currently has a project to measure climate change in the Falkland Islands and has done some scoping research on the impact of climate change on agriculture, horticulture and forestry in Northern Ireland.
